Letter to Mom from Lynn Barham

Dear Mrs. Moretto,

Sorry I can not be with you in your time of grief. But know that I have been praying for you and your family at this time. I want to share some things with you that I remember about Matthew that are etched in my heart.
When we moved here back in 1964 I was 12 years old. Matthew must have been around 4 or 5. He was so cute, over the years I have watched him go from boy to man. You can be very proud of the man he had become.
I want to tell you some things about your son you may not know.
Matthew was very good to my Dad. When my Mother was put in a home, he would stop by and talk to Dad to see if he could do anything for him or just to talk. My Father really appreciated that. He'd always tell me about Matthew's visits. Matthew had a great heart and compassion. My fondest memory of Matt happened just 10 years ago when my Dad passed away, I was here at the house by myself. when Matt came over, gave me a big hug and asked if he could do anything for me. He offered to watch the house while it was empty for me. I never got the chance to tell Matt what that hug meant to me that day, all I can say is I really needed it badly. Matt was so easy to love.
I just thought you would like to know.
My parents always said they never had to worry about your boys causing any trouble or talking back to them.
You have done a great job raising your boys........... I could on and on, but I'll quit now.
Give my Love to, Brian, Micheal and Kevin.
Remember the good things....the memories  cannot be taken away.

With Love
Lynn Barham
